The English Rose sometimes called the Tudor Rose is the traditional floral emblem of England. It takes its origins from the Tudor Dynasty so there is immense history behind the symbol. The rose was the family emblem for two of England’s famous feuding families. The “Lancasters” used the red rose on their emblem and the “Yorks” coat of arms incorporated a white rose.

There are several well known uses for the rose as a iconic emblem in modern day society.
Labour, one of Great Britain’s leading political parties uses the rose as their party emblem. It is also used as the emblem on the rugby jersey of the England international rugby team.
